Yvonne Knowlton

Yvonne Knowlton was born April 28, 1934 to Duncan and Maude Hardyman in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Yvonne and parents moved to the United States in 1949. She graduated from Inglewood High School in 1952. On November 6, 1954, Yvonne and Jack were married. They were blessed with two daughters, Pamela and Deborah. Together, Jack and Yvonne raised their family in Reseda, California where they lived for 38+ years. Yvonne enjoyed many years of sewing, baking, square dancing, boating and camping in their RV with family and friends. Yvonne and Jack eventually moved to the Antelope Valley in 1992. While living in the Antelope Valley, they enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s many school and sporting events - awards ceremonies, banquets, cheerleading, football, basketball, baseball and track. Together, Jack and Yvonne also enjoyed volunteering at the Palmdale Playhouse. On May 8, 2017, in the comfort of her home and with her family by her side, Yvonne passed away peacefully and returned to the love of her life - Jack. Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, to whom she was married to for almost 62 years and her sister Monica Colbourne. Yvonne is survived by her sister Joyce Larson; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Robb Thompson, Deborah and Tom Tapia; six grandchildren, Randall Thompson (Rebecca Thompson), Cassie Tapia Kim (Kevin Kim), Richard Thompson (Shandi Thompson), Thomas Tapia (Jill Tapia), Ryan Thompson (Stephanie Meyer), Robinson Thompson (Erin Garcia); and her six GREAT grandchildren, Jackson Kim, Rylan Thompson, Marley Kim, Claire Thompson, Emily Thompson, and Everett Tapia and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please make donations to ProCare Hospice Foundation in Lancaster, CA. Any donations sent to the Lancaster facility at 42445 10th Street West, Ste E, Lancaster, California 93534 will stay in the Antelope Valley to benefit local patients in their care.
