Veronica Macchi

Mrs. Veronica Macchi, age 93, of Palmdale, CA, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at her residence.
She was born July 28, 1927, in Peru, Illinois, daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Gapski.
Veronica was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Louis Macchi; three brothers, Franklin, Louis and William; and six sisters, Clara, Eleanor, Vivian, Mary, Irene, and Lillian.
Louis and Veronica moved from Standard, Illinois with their two daughters Kristine and Linda to Burbank / Sunland, CA in 1951 and lived there for 33 years. During that time they welcomed two more children Michael and Maria. In October 1983 Louis and Veronica moved to Lebanon Missouri and then Camdenton, Missouri. After Louis passed away in 1990 Veronica moved back to California in 1995 and lived with Linda and her family until her passing.
Veronica was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a homemaker. She enjoyed arts, crafts and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Veronica is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Michael Macchi (Barbara), three daughters and three son-in-laws, Kristine Zamarin (David), Linda Stice (Steven), Maria Palma (Anthony); 10 grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; 1 step-grandson; several great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; one sister, Henrietta Klein of Mendota, Illinois and one brother Chester Gapski of Oglesby, Illinois. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
