Ted (Theodore) Edward Dopler, age 60, passed away on March 31, 2018 at 2:10 p.m. due to injuries sustained in a tragic flying accident in Santa Paula, California. Born on November 30, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was raised with his six brothers and sisters in Mingo Junction, Ohio. After Graduating Catholic Central High School in May 1976, he joined the United States Air Force where he met and married his first wife Dawn A. Dopler while stationed at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire. After reenlisting, he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. After leaving the service in December 1986, Ted began employment with Lockheed Martin and moved his family to California. When his first marriage ended in divorce, Ted met and fell in love with Lori Ann Geisler in May 1996. Ted and Lori were married on August 20, 2001. Ted was an avid pilot and aviation enthusiast.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lori Ann Dopler, three sons Daniel W. Dopler of CA, Michael E. Dopler (Elizabeth) of MA, and Andrew S. Dopler (Lillian) of HI, and his stepson, Austin A. Gregory of ID. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kellan, Conor, Ethan, and Aubrey, six brothers and sisters, Dennis Dopler of AZ, Jack Dopler of Costa Rica, David Dopler of MD, Sharon Thomas (Tim) of VA, Paul Dopler of MD, and Corinne Canori (Vince) of CA, mother-in-law Almeda Geisler of MD, brother-in-law Gary Geisler (Vicki) of MD as well as two sisters-in-law, Donna St. Denis (Jim) of FL, and Carole Thompson (Will) of MD. In addition, he left many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents John and Virgil Dopler. A memorial service is scheduled for between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday April 8, 2018 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E Ave R, Palmdale, CA 93550. Entombment to follow at a later date in Maryland.
