RITCHIE, Ronald James born October 2, 1929 in Santa Monica, CA. Passed away November 13, 2014 in Palmdale, CA. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, children, Randal James Ritchie and Lora Ann Madding (Les), grandchildren, Justin Cody and Chelsey Morgan Madding and numerous family members. He was raised in Palmdale, CA and has lived in Palmdale for the past 83 years. He graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1948. He attended Antelope Valley College and graduated with an AA degree. He served in the United States Navy for four years, during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over sixty-one years. He joined Al Malaikah Shrine in 1969 and became a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Pasadena in 1952. He worked for Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency for 35 years, as a schools bus driver/servicer. He has served his community in various ways. He volunteered for the Antelope Valley Fair for over 40 years, and at Saddle-Up Therapeutic Riding Stables for five years. He was a member of Rusty Relics, Antelope Valley Chapter. He volunteered for Los Angeles County Fire Department as a Fire Fighter from 1960 until its disbandment. A visitation will be held from 3pm to 7pm Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary with a funeral service at 1pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Palmdale Masonic Lodge 2220 East Avenue Q, Palmdale. A graveside service to follow at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saddle-Up or Shriner’s Hospital LA.
