DEVENEY, SR., Ronald Edward a resident of the Antelope Valley since 1978, born January 19, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK. Passed away October 4, 2015 in Littlerock, CA. Ron grew up in Bakersfield, CA. He is a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Marine Corps from 1967 to 1972. He earned several recognitions during his military service which include the Vietnam Campaign medal with device, Vietnam Service medal with 1 star, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, Good Conduct medal, and the Combat Action ribbon. Ron loved camping, fishing, and rock and coin collecting. Ron spent many hours with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and any child that regarded him as grandpa. He always had a piece of candy or cookie for any child that came by. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Deveney, son, Ronald Edward Deveney, Jr. and wife Frances, daughter, Kimberly Ann Pass, grandchildren, Andrew Edward Deveney, Elizabeth Amber Wilder, Lindsay Grace Kratz, Aimee Renee Deveney, Michael Bradley Romo, Daniel Thomas Romo, and Christopher Allen Pass, and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 9:30am Friday, October 9, 2015 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary in Palmdale with a graveside service at 12:30pm at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin.
