Pearlie Herreen

(December 10, 1933 – August 25, 2015)   Pearlie Kate married Charles Miller and they had 4 daughters together.  The eldest is Sandra Jean Jones, a Registered Nurse who holds a Master’s Degree from UCLA.  The second eldest is Dawn Stephanie Miller, who holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Fashion and Costume Design.  Then Pamela Camille DeSimone also holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology.  The youngest, who is the namesake, Pearlie Kate Miller, Jr., continues the remarkable trend of also earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, TV, and Film.   Pearlie retired from the Aerospace industry as a Supervisor of Inspection at Rockwell/Rocketdyne.  She inspected the parts used to build several space shuttles.   Cooking was one of her favorite things to do and she was often praised for her recipes; not only from her daughters, but also from many friends who would come over to enjoy Pearlie’s cooking.   Her greatest humanitarian activity was opening her home to many people who didn’t have a safe place to live or just wanted to stay at her home because it was a safe haven.   Through Pearlie’s daughters, there are several grandchildren and great grandchildren:   The eldest grandchild is Jennifer Ann Elizabeth Miller, who gave Pearlie 2 great grandchildren named Jaime and Madison .  Then there is Alona Miller, who has given Pearlie the youngest great grandchild named Ruby Monroe Miller Sobat, who was only 2 at the time of Pearlie passing, another grandchild is Alona’s brother, Khalil Greene.  Then there is Sierra DeSimone , who is the daughter of Pamela and James DeSimone.     They are others who are like daughters to Pearlie.  They are Ishula, Yvonne, and Dana.   Every family member was there during Pearlie’s final moments on earth and were a part of her transition through those Pearly Gates of Heaven.  Similarly named Pearlie Kate, after the Pearly Gates, ensures her direct passage into those gates that lead to heaven.  Her loving heart ensures her a permanent resting place there.   With all the love in our hearts, we thank Pearlie for contributing to our lives in a positive and loving way.
