The Life and Times of "Brother Paul" ?By Opa ?Paul Boudreau, a lifelong resident of the Antelope Valley, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5. It was sudden and unexpected. Although born in Boston, MA., his family moved to Palmdale when Paul was three years old. He graduated from Palmdale High School in 1969. He attended Antelope Valley College for two years and Long Beach State. ?Paul is survived by his wife Deborah, and one of their sons, Benjamin. Adam, his first born, passed away several years ago. He has three beautiful granddaughters, Kenna, Emily and Abigail. These young ladies are beautiful, smart and talented. Watched Emily and Abigail in the Nutcracker this weekend at Lancaster Performing Arts Center. They are headed to Broadway, so catch them now because it will cost you at lot less. ?Paul played football while at PHS and AVC. He was an outstanding halfback and defensive back. It was while he was at AVC that he met his future wife, Deborah Spence. ?Paul and Deb married in 1972 and had two wonderful boys. Whoa, he thought! All this responsibility! Where did it come from? In those days jobs were hard to find. Wanting Deb to be able to sty at home with Adam, Paul took a second job. He started his own business washing windows, in addition to his job with Costa Mesa School District as a grounds keeper. The cruel days of window washing began. Hundreds of windows throughout Orange County sparkled! ?Paul, Deb and one year old Adam, moved back to the Antelope Valley in 1979. He continued to maintain two jobs. Paul began working for Palmdale School District as a custodian during the week and a bartender at the Horseshoe Club, which was owned by his Uncle Bob, on the weekends. Paul began working for the Los Angeles County Road Department in 1981, working for our good roads and making them safer. By the time Paul retired, he climbed up the ladder to Senior Construction Inspector. There will be a graveside service on Monday, December 12th at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Lancaster. All of Paul's friends, creditors, lien holders or lost souls invited. See the old man at the gate... the one with his hand out. That will be me.
