Former City Councilman, Mike Dispenza, passed away in the early morning hours on October 28, 2018 at his home in Palmdale, Calif. Mike was 80 years old, born in Monroe, L.A. on Oct. 4, 1938. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Dispenza, daughters, Tammy Gallo of Pioneer, Calif., Donna Kaltenecker of Orlando, Fla. and son, Mark Dispenza of Baton Rouge, L.A. There are 4 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Mike owned the Mike Dispenza State Farm Insurance Agency at 3rd St. West and Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale, for 40 years. Over all his tenure with State Farm exceeds 50 years. Mike served on the Palmdale City Council for 17 years from 1999 to 2016. He loved the City of Palmdale and worked tirelessly towards it's improvement.
Mike was a loving husband and father. He had a wonderful sense of humor and touched the lives of many people in the Antelope Valley. He suffered with several debilitating illnesses during his lifetime and stepped down from the City Council at the end of his 17th years of service in Dec. 2016. He was semi-retired from his insurance agency for the past 12 months.
Mike will be greatly missed by not only his family, but also by his many friends and acquaintances in the Antelope Valley and beyond.
Mike's wishes were to not have a formalized funeral service, but will have a visitation/viewing at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E. Ave. R., Palmdale, CA on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2pm till 8pm. Rosary at 6pm.
