1921-2011
Marvin A Stout died peacefully at his home on August 24, 2011. He was
90 years old. His beloved wife of 66 years, Betty Jean Stout died on
July 10th 2011. Marvin is survived by his brother John Stout, his
sister Betty Ruth Ripley, his five children; Marvin Jr, Darlene, John,
Richard and Terry, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Born on the fourth of July, 1921 to
Henry and Annie Stout in Wagoner, OK, he grew up to be a true patriot.
He graduated from Webster High School, Tulsa, OK and served briefly in
the Civilian Conservation Corp before joining the United States Army
Air Corps. After landing in every country that had a long enough
runway, he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant: proudly serving 26
years and having lived in 20 states & territories including Alaska and
Guam. After retirement he moved to Palmdale, CA to work for Lockheed
where he helped build the L 1011 aircraft. In 1971 he established the
family business, Tax Service Specialists, where he worked until age
87. He was a family man and enjoyed having his family around him. He
was as an active member of the Shriners and Masons as well as numerous
other charities. As a political activist Marvin worked tirelessly on
behalf of veterans while serving The Senior Citizens League and as
National Treasurer of The Retired Enlisted Association: lobbying in
Washington DC until 2010 as active member of the GOP. We will miss
you Poppy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Palmdale
Chapter of TREA c/o Tax Service Specialist 525 Commerce Avenue, Ste.
A, Palmdale, CA 93551. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 pm,
Thursday September 1, 2011, with funeral services at 10 am Friday
September 2, 2011 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale.
Interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park with Reception to
follow at the Palmdale Masonic Lodge, 2231 E. Ave. Q, Palmdale.
