Orton, Maria, was born on September 13, 1932 in Horny Turcek, Czechoslovakia. She left to be with her savior on August 21, 204 surrounded by her family, at peace and pain free, in Palmdale, Calif. Maria will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched. She was always upbeat, even through her courageous battle with cancer. There was never a person who did not feel welcome by her. She was a strong, determined woman, who held firmly to her beliefs and always gave of herself to others. Beloved wife of William Orton; mother of Trudy Marvin (Hank), and Bob Shanabarger; grandmother to Tamera Mickelson (Park), Tanya Marvgin, Erik Shanabarger, and Henry Marvin;great-grandmother to Everly Mickelson, Morgan, Brooke and Stephen Marvin, and Sean Shanabarger. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved niece Marta Holz, and her family, and many other cherished relatives. Maria immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1955. She later became a United States Citizen and cherished everything about being an American. She would often share with others her pride and appreciation of her newly adopted homeland. Maria moved to the Antelope Valley in 1957. A visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm, Thursday, August, 28, 2014 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E. Ave. R Palmdale, Calif. 93550. Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Blessed Junipero Serra Parish, following with interment at Joshua Memorial Park, both in Lancaster, Calif.
