Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher and friend made her transition suddenly on Saturday, February 11, 2012. She passed away doing what she loved doing...dancing with friends. Luisa was an employee of the Palmdale School District from 2004, until the present. She was currently teaching at Desert Willow Intermediate School, where she was active in the Dancing Feet program to teach students ballroom dancing. She also served as Secretary of the Palmdale Elementary Teachers Association. Luisa was born and raised in Miami, Fla., and graduated from Southridge High School and Florida International University. Her parents, Fred Suero of Tampa, Fla., and Lelis Leon of Miami, were both born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Besides her parents, Luisa is survived by her husband of 16 years, Lawrence G. Mayberry of Gary, Ind., children Luis Malik Suero-Mayberry (age 15) and Lauren Mikayla Suero-Mayberry (age 11), sister Mrs. Mabel Merino, brother Ray Suero, and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Luisa and Lawrence moved to the Antelope Valley in July, 2000. She was a member of the Unity Church of Antelope Valley. A viewing of the body will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary in Palmdale. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the “Center for Spiritual Living, Antelope Valley” in Lancaster, Calif. She will be laid to rest in her hometown of Miami, Fla. Luisa will be forever loved and missed by her family, friends, colleagues and students from around the world. May she always rest in peace.
