Lidia Angelica Parra, 82, passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2022, in Lancaster, CA. She passed with a sense of peace and minimal struggle with her son by her side. She had been in a loving home care facility for over a month trying to recover from an injury due to a fall.
Lidia was born September 30, 1940, in Santiago, Chile. In 1965, she married Ruben Roger Parra in Chile and months later immigrated to Los Angeles, California where they both became US Citizens. Lidia had her first son Claudio in January 1966. Ruben was born 2 days short of a year after Claudio. Jorge, her 3rd and last son, was born 15 months after Ruben. Lidia was a housewife but when her boys started school, she decided to learn a skill and completed beauty school in 1978. She liked cutting and styling her friends and families hair.
Lidia attended church regularly for many years and was very involved with ministries. In June 2007, she became a certified Chaplain. She volunteered at Antelope Valley Hospital where she offered spiritual guidance to many patients and to those who would listen. Later, her arthritis slowly started to take a toll and she became less mobile. Lidia enjoyed listening to her audio Bible, watching true life Crime programs and had an addiction for Spearmint chewing gum.
She is survived by her boys. Claudio, Ruben and Jorge. Her memorial service will be held Saturday December 10th at Halley Olsen Chapel of the Valley.
