Jewel Warfield was born on January 21, 1940 in Cottonwood Point, MO. She passed away December 21, 2016 in Lancaster, CA. She is a graduate of Portageville High School, Free Hardman College, Harding University and University of La Verne. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and teacher. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years Edward Lee; her children James Lee, John Mark, and Paul David; daughter-in-law Karen Diane; grandchildren Emily, Samuel, Liam, Grant, Nathaniel and Aidan; and brother Jack Goodman. She is preceded in death by her parents T.L. Goodman and Virgie Weaver Goodman; sister Dorothy Dixon, brothers David Goodman, Bill Goodman, and Benny Goodman; daughter-in-law Maureen Warfield; and granddaughter Zue-Zue. Two of Jewel's greatest joys were reading and teaching. Being the daughter of a share cropper who struggle to read, she was inspired to learn to read, get an education, and then teach others this valuable life skill. She touched countless lives as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. Viewing service will be held on December 30, 2016 at 12:00 pm followed by funeral service at 1:00 pm at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary.
