Jesse Davis

July 5, 1933 — March 11, 2020

With great sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, Jesse E. Davis. He left us while sleeping peacefully at his residence on March 11th, 2020, Lancaster, CA. Jesse was born on July 5th, 1933 in Texarkana, Texas to Maybell Criner and O’Neal Davis. He had three older brothers, Mace O’Neal, Nathaniel and Willie Davis. He graduated from Dunbar High School Class of 1952 and received a football scholarship from Bishop College. Jesse joined the Air Force and served for 23 years. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he joined Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, California where he worked for the next 18 years until retirement. Since 1981 until his passing, Jesse was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Palmdale serving as President, Vice President and Treasurer. He was also a volunteer at the LPAC (Lancaster Performing Arts Center) for 27 wonderful years.  He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan, who was a loyal supporter of the UCLA Bruins. He graduated from Antelope Valley College receiving two degrees in Forestry and Entomology. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his wife Bettye Davis, and his children Adrian Blakemore, Stephanie Ralph, Kevin Davis, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, please check back to this site for the upcoming announcement.
