Georgia Coon

COON, Georgia Baldwin, Born April 23, 1918 in Westfield, NY.  Passed away Nov. 7, 2011 in Palmdale, Ca.  She is survived by her son, David Coon (Jill Lee-Jones), daughter, Donna Mazzeo (Fred Mazzeo), daughter-in-law, Debra Coon, grandchildren, Erik, Bryan, Amy and Tim Coon, great-grandchildren, Miles and Maia Coon and Danielle Bravo.  Mrs. Coon was preceded in death by her husband Donald and son Daniel. Mrs. Coon grew up in Westfield, NY and went to school in Westfield and Dunkirk, NY.   Her hobbies were gardening, reading, knitting, embroidery and genealogy  Georgia Coon came to the Antelope Valley from Western New York with her husband Donald and family as part of a 1950’s aerospace project.  They chose to stay when the project finished.  She was a member of the community for over 50 years, as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.  Though touched by personal tragedies, she was a generous and courageous spirit and the center of family gatherings over many years.  Her long life gave love and joy to many.  She will be deeply missed.  Donations may be made to Hoffman Hospice, 655 W.
