SCHNEIDER, Clara Julia Born in Los Angeles, Calif., on March 15, 1916. Passed away on October 21, 2012 , at the age of 96. Clara was a graduate of Immaculate Heart High School and College where she majored in Art. As alumni she continued to support the school for many years. On October 22, 1943, Clara married John Q. Schneider and they made their home in Los Angeles, Calif. At the time John worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller. When the new control center opened in Palmdale, calif., in the early 1960's, John and Clara relocated there. They were the second family to purchase a home in the Antelope Valley Country Club Estates and made their home on Makin Avenue where they lived for the next 41 years. In 2006, they moved to Las Vegas to be closer to their daughters. After John's retirement he and Clara were able to travel extensively, taking cruises to the Mediterranean, Alaska, the Caribbean and several to Hawaii. They also traveled the country in their motor home. Clara was a memeber of the Antelope Valley YMCA and participated in many of their programs. Clara is survived by her sister, Jeanne L. Pratty of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.; three daughters, Louise Janet Harper, Patricia J. Freeman (Norman), Catherine Ann Johnson of Las Vegas; three grandchildren: Austin J. Freeman (Alison) of Alamogordo, N.M., Julia Teeple (Sean) and Randy Johnson, both of Cumming, Georgia and three great-granddaughters: Alice and Nicole Teeple and Mackenzee Freeman. Services will be held at 1pm, Friday, November 2, 2012 at Blessed Junipero Serra Parish Catholic Church, 42121 N. 60th St. W., Quartz Hill, CA 93536 with interment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Lancaster, Calif.
