Brian Russell

January 8, 1934 — December 10, 2018

BRIAN RICKER RUSSELL   Brian was born to David Ashby Russell and Clare Ricker Russell on January 8th, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA.  He passed away on December 10th, 2018, in Palmdale, CA, after a lengthy illness. Brian graduated from Franklin High School and was still in touch with his class.  He attended the annual Franklin reunions.  He loved his classmates.  He also graduated from Antelope Valley Community College.  He had his business as a heating and air conditioning contractor and a general contractor, for many years. Brian was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was Air Police. He served from 1953 until his honorable discharge, in 1957. Brian was a “man of action.”  He loved racing dirt bikes, desert cars, skiing, flying his Cessna 182 and anything else that was new and exciting to him.  He also, loved the game of golf.  He played as long as he was able.  Then, bought a motor home and enjoyed camping with friends and family.  He and his wife, Pat, traveled the World and later turned to cruising to faraway places.   He found such joy in all of these things.  His favorite TV channels were, National Geographic, The History, Poker, Golf and The Military.  Brian leaves behind, his wife, soulmate and true love, of over 50 years, Pat.  His four children, Jeanie Petit, Janet Russell, Jeff Russell (Tammy) and Lily Knight (Steve.)  Ten grandchildren, Chad, Jeanette and Brian Russell.  Shannon Russell and Alyssa Russell-Sadoff.  Justin, Shawn and Mishelle Petit.  Christopher and Michael Knight.  Great granddaughter, Kira Jo, born on December 5, 2018.  Also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Keith and Jackie Palmer and sister-in-law, Christine Russell.  Several nieces and nephews including Sandra (Palmer) Heffernan (Mike) and Michelle Russell (John Kelsch).  Brian was preceded in death by his parents David and Clara Russell and older brother, David. At Brian’s request, there will be no funeral service.  There will be a “Celebration of Life” with Military Honors at 2PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Crystalaire Country Club, 15701 Boca Raton Avenue, Llano, CA, for friends and family.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Wounded Warriors.
