Betty Miklos

November 24, 1926 — July 26, 2014

Betty Ann was born on November 24, 1926 in Bakersfield, CA to Grace & David Kimble. She was the 7th of 8 siblings; Lewis, Vee, Margaret, David Jr, Fred, Jack, and Doris. She graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1945 with lifelong friends, the “45” gals, that continue to enjoy monthly luncheons. Her unending smile, open heart, & gift of giving for the joy of others were evident throughout her life. Whether starting a “Ponytail” league, bowling to perfection, organizing family picnics, working at American National, 25 years of South High School PTA, or dancing with the love of her life, Steve, the countless lives & generations that she has touched will forever be blessed. Betty Ann was preceded in death by her husband Steve & children Donna Halford & Douglas Miklos. She is survived by her sister Doris Wright. Children Doris Cruz, Diane & Joe Martinez, Danny & Kathy Copenhaver, Debby & Albert Mennucci, David & Berta Miklos, also Sandy Ponder & Jeremy Brown who she helped raise. Along with many nephews & nieces that she loved dearly. She also leaves behind 12 precious grandchildren Debbie Cruz, Joely & BJ Welle, Joshua & Chantale Martinez, Danny Martinez, Margaret & Adam Vinson, Derek & Morgan Miklos, Mackenzie & Madison Mennucci, & 13 great grandkids, Chase Chavez, Connor & Cason Welle, Sidney Knight-Cruz, Olivia, Isabel, Sophia & Joshua Martinez, Donna, Lindeman & Rass Vinson, and Camron, and Landon Miklos, who know her as simply “Granny Goose.” She was a great story teller, never met a “Dodger” she didn't love, and never passed up a refreshing Coca Cola Classic.  Her passion for reading filled many joyful hours. As the matriarch of a large extended family, she always ran her home with an Open Door policy. Betty Ann will be lovingly remembered by all. With grateful hearts, thank you is not enough, to David & Berta for their phenomenal caretaking of Mom. In lieu of flowers please bring a children’s book or donate to your favorite charity.
