Amparo Valenzuela was born in 1932 to Jose and Ricarda in Jalpa, Zacatecas Mexico. Amparo was fourth among twelve siblings. She was a respectable young woman who assisted her mother with household duties and to care for her younger siblings.
In 1953, she married Pedro Valenzuela from her hometown of Jalpa. Over the next several years, she traveled extensively between Jalpa and Southern California and ultimately residing in Eagle Rock, California in 1970. During this time she gave birth to seven children: Maria, Ruben, Raquel, Teresa, Pedro Jr., Juan and Alicia.
While her husband Pedro worked, Amparo dedicated herself to maintaining a clean home and cooking delicious authentic Mexican meals. She was devoted to God, her husband and children. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint.
In 1988, after his retirement Pedro and Amparo moved to Palmdale, California. They became members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and attended mass regularly. They were married for 65 years until Pedro’s passing in 2018.
She is survived by her seven children, twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A graceful women and loving mother who was devoted to God and her family will be greatly missed by family and friends.
