Allen Hill

Allen Jay Hill, 56, of Lancaster, CA, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at home. Allen was born May 11, 1962, the son of Reid and Beverly Hill of Garrison, North Dakota. He attended White Shield School through 8th grade and graduated from Garrison High School in 1980. Allen attended Lake Region Community College at Devil's Lake and Bismarck State College. He worked at Prairie Knights Casino, Fort Yates, ND. He was an active member of Burleigh County Housing Authority Board, Bismarck-Mandan Transit Authority, Bismarck-Mandan Humane Society, and Bismarck Zoo. Allen is survived by his wife, Joanne, Lancaster, CA; step-daughter, Meredith Mooers, Newbury Park, CA; step-son, Robert Mooers, Kimberly, WI; brothers, Ronald (Jean) Hill, Bismarck, ND; Jim (Geri) Hill, Makoti, ND; Larry (Shelley) Hill, Bismarck, ND; sisters, Cheryl (Nick) Kerzman, Bluffton, MN; Colleen Walsh, La Mesa, CA; sister-in-law Sherry (Brent) Gardner, Jamestown, ND; aunts and uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins and one very special dog, Minnie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reid and Beverly Hill, niece, Melissa Regan, sister-in-law, Marge Hill, brother-in-law, Dennis Walsh, mother-in-law, Marilyn Srozinski, father-in-law, Harold Srozinski, and his spouse from a previous marriage, Linda Hill. The family wishes to thank VITAS Hospice and Home Instead Caregivers for their support in his final days. Memorials can be sent to VITAS Hospice, MDA, Bismarck Humane Society and the Bismarck Zoo. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens of the Valley Lutheran Church, Palmdale.
