Albert Barbuscia

September 4, 1938 — November 7, 2012

BARBUSCIA, Albert Andrew, 74, of Palmdale, California, beloved husband and best friend of Rae (Murphy) Babuscia for 50 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on November 7, 2012.  He was predeceased by his son Timothy Joseph who died shortly after his birth.  He was also predeceased by his parents Andrew and Julia Barbuscia of Tucson, Arizona.  Al was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Tucson, Arizona, at a young age.  He attended Salpointe High School where he played football and enjoyed his teenage years.  After graduation he served in the United States Navy.  Albert retired from Rockwell where he worked in Quality Management and later went on to work at United Space Alliance in the same capacity.  His dedication and spirit earned him numerous awards and lifelong friends.  Albert’s greatest accomplishment was his family.  He had an enduring love for his wife Rae, who was his incredibly, compassionate caregiver during his 4 yeah battle with ALS.  He was a loving and caring father who sacrificed everything for his children.  His love for his family was evident each and every second of his life.  Albert also enjoyed golf, coaching, traveling, cards, and tasty food.  He was a member of the Elks Club where he enjoyed seeing his friends.  Besides his wife Rae, Al is survived by his brother, Frank Barbuscia, his sister Louise Hayes, two daughters, Kathleen and her husband Mike Swiech of Lancaster, California and Laureen and her husband David Oakenfold of Kirkland, Washington, sons, Phil Barbuscia, Albert Barbuscia and his wife Angie, Andrew Barbuscia and his wife Eszter all of San Diego, California.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob, Grant, Mason, Addison, Jaxon, Sicily, Cooper, George, and Calvin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all his friends that continually supported him during his fight.  Albert’s time with you was one of his favorite things to look forward to.  His nurses and doctors and their dedication and effort to provide quality care were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.  We thank God for the gift of his life and the time we spent with him.  A Rosary will be held Monday, November 12th at 10:00am at Father Serra Parish in Quartz, Hill, Ca. followed by Mass at 10:30am.  There will be a reception following the service at the church hall.  A Graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, AZ with a reception to follow.
